A Fallbrook man suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when the small airplane he was piloting crashed shortly after takeoff in a field next to the Fallbrook air park, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
William Nolan, 54, was on his way to Colorado when the plane crashed in the 2500 block of Olive Hill Road, the spokesman said. Witnesses took Nolan to Fallbrook Hospital, where he was treated for a broken nose and other minor injuries before being transferred to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating, the sheriff’s spokesman said.
