‘Stand’ for L.A.: A thousand-voice choir will join the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in recording “Stand & Be Proud,” a plea for unity written by Sue Shifrin and David Cassidy as the official anthem of Peter Ueberroth’s Rebuild L.A. campaign. Led by First A.M.E. Church choir director Joe Westmoreland, the “Voice of the City” choir will be composed of community and religious groups from across Los Angeles. All proceeds from the record and video, which will be taped at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday and are due out the first week of July, will go to Rebuild L.A.
