80 Trees Will Be Planted at School in ReLeaf Effort

Share

Students, parents, teachers and community volunteers intend to plant 80 trees Saturday morning at Rancho San Joaquin Intermediate School in cooperation with Irvine ReLeaf’s effort to increase the number of trees in the city.

Irvine ReLeaf formed two years ago and has planted about 800 trees, mostly on public property, in cooperation with government agencies that apply for state tree-planting grants.

Saturday’s tree planting at 9 a.m. is the second one sponsored primarily by the Irvine Ranch Water District. On April 25, the district led a 118-tree planting at Irvine High School. Other sponsors for Saturday’s planting are the city of Irvine, the Irvine Unified School District and the National Charity League.
