So director Ron Howard is happy that Tom Cruise has developed his character in “Far and Away” into that of an arrogant star pugilist (“Epic Picture, Epic Dreams,” May 17).
I guess practice makes perfect. Remember Cruise’s other roles? Arrogant star fighter pilot, arrogant star pool shooter, race car driver, sports car salesman, quarterback, teen-ager. . . .
