A Sylmar resident was in critical condition Sunday after he and a companion were shot, apparently following an argument with their attackers, Los Angeles police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the 13200 block of Maclay Avenue in Sylmar, Lt. David E. Baca said. The victims, possibly juveniles, were taken to Olive View-UCLA Medical Center before officers arrived.
One of them was shot in the back and remained in critical condition, Baca said. His companion was shot in the leg.
Baca said the attack did not appear to be gang-related. No suspects were arrested.
