Litton Consolidates 4 Operations at 2 Sites

Litton Industries Inc., consolidating in the face of shrinking defense budgets, said it’s moving its Van Nuys operation into its Agoura Hills plant and will merge its Moorpark operation into its Woodland Hills facility.

Litton, a Beverly Hills-based defense, aerospace and industrial products concern, also hopes to sell the abandoned facilities in Moorpark and Van Nuys for a total of $45.5 million, said Litton spokesman Robert Knapp.

The Van Nuys plant is part of Litton’s Data Systems division, and the Moorpark facility is part of its Aeroproducts division, which makes aircraft navigation systems. The moves already have started and will continue over several months, involving a total of about 2,000 employees, Knapp said. No layoffs are planned, he added.
