OJAI : Hearing to Address Downtown Parking

Share

The Ojai City Council will hold a public hearing tonight on a proposed ordinance that would force developers in the downtown area to provide parking or contribute to a public parking fund.

If approved, the In-Lieu Parking Fee Ordinance would mandate the construction of parking spaces for any new projects that increase traffic in Ojai’s Redevelopment Agency Area, which includes most of downtown, City Manager Andrew Belknap said.

Developers who are unable to build the required number of parking places would be required to pay $3,140 for each parking place mandated by the ordinance, Belknap said.
