The Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors voted unanimously to accept a recommendation from the conference’s Gender Equity Task Force to bring women’s teams up to 40% of all conference programs. The schools must submit to the Big Ten within a year their plans for reaching the goal of 40% by 1997.
