Desert Storm Ship to Open for Viewing

An amphibious cargo ship that participated in Operation Desert Storm will be open for public viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday t the Broadway Pier, Navy officials announced Tuesday.
The Mobile, with a crew of 400, was one of 35 ships whose home port is San Diego and which were in the Persian Gulf as part of the Navy’s Desert Storm contingent.
The ship will be docked at the intersection of Broadway and North Harbor Drive.
