Area commencement ceremonies:
* Los Angeles City College--6 p.m. tonight on the campus Quad, 855 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles.
* Glendale Community College--Registered and vocational nursing programs; 7 p.m. tonight in the College Auditorium, 1500 N. Verdugo Road.
* Occidental College--Author, educator and civil rights activist Maya Angelou will speak; 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Remsen Bird Hillside Bowl, 1600 Campus Road, Eagle Rock.
