SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV : Dodgers Play Reds Twice

The NBA wraps up weekend play for the season, major league baseball returns to CBS and gymnastics and boxing conduct their U.S. Olympic trials on an event-filled sports television weekend.

* Pro Basketball: The Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers begin Game 6 of the NBA Finals at 4 p.m. Sunday on NBC (Channels 4, 36 and 39).

* Baseball: CBS (Channels 2 and 8) airs its first major league game since May 2, when the Dodgers visit the Cincinnati Reds today at 10 a.m. The same two teams play again Sunday at 5 p.m. on ESPN. The slumping Angels play host to former teammate Wally Joyner and the Kansas City Royals tonight at 7 on SportsChannel. The San Diego Padres face the Atlanta Braves today at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. on TBS and KUSI (Channel 51) and KESQ (Channel 42).

* U.S. Olympic Trials: Boxing and the women’s gymnastics finals air today at noon on Channels 4 and 36 and 11 a.m. on Channel 39. The men’s gymnastics finals and more boxing will air Sunday at 1 p.m. on all three NBC stations.

* Golf: CBS (Channels 2 and 8) offers the $1.1-million Federal Express St. Jude Classic today at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The $1-million Senior Players Championship can be seen today at 1 p.m. on ABC (Channels 7, 3 and 42) and at noon on Channel 10. Sunday’s final round begins at 3 p.m. on all four ABC stations.

* Other Sports: Bowling’s $125,000 Active West Open at Riverside will be shown today on Channels 7, 3, and 42 at 3 p.m., 2 p.m. on Channel 10. “Wide World of Sports” (today at 4:30 p.m., Channels 7, 3 and 42, 3:30 p.m., Channel 10) features the Joey Gamache-Chil-Sung Chun WBA lightweight title fight and the Grand National Steeplechase from England. In Arena Football, the Arizona Rattlers-Sacramento Attack game airs tonight at 9 on ESPN.
