First-Class Comforts

Share

In his article criticizing the airlines for their service (“Passenger Makes Plea for Some Airline Changes,” May 10), James T. Yenckel claims they do not let passengers board at their leisure. I have always been allowed to board at my leisure. He also says he has trouble getting a drink of water, or anything else. I am usually served drinks while still on the ground. I never have trouble with the meal trays being picked up, as my meals are always served on china, one course at a time. He complains about the restrooms up front not being available to all passengers. I always use the restrooms at the very front of the plane. I always have plenty of seating room. I have never felt uncomfortable on a long trip by air.

Why do I have all these extras? Because I always fly first-class. Mr. Yenckel wants first-class comfort at coach prices. If he wants all these extras, maybe he should part with a few more dollars and pay for the creature comforts. I don’t think I am better than the next man, but if I pay for all these extras, I don’t expect the airlines to furnish them to someone who has paid hundreds or thousands of dollars less.
