La Verne : Traffic Tickets in Live Oak
At the request of the Live Oak Homeowners Assn., the City Council on Monday authorized police to issue traffic citations in the private Live Oak section of north La Verne.
An association representative said the main problem is on Shemiran Street, where some people drive recklessly around a blind curve and endanger pedestrians and children.
City Manager Martin R. Lomeli said that it will cost the city virtually nothing to issue citations in the area and that traffic fines will bring some income to the city.
Lomeli said that even if all five of the city’s homeowners associations were to request the same service, it would probably have no significant impact on the city budget.
