SANTA CLARITA : Local Leaders to Discuss Rail Transit
Santa Clarita community leaders will meet Tuesday to discuss commuter rail.
The city convenes the Public Information Resource Group, which includes business leaders, community activists and residents, four times annually to discuss local issues. Those wishing to attend should call city spokeswoman Gail Foy to make a reservation.
Peter Hidalgo, a spokesman for Metrolink, will speak about the commuter rail service scheduled to start in October. The train will link Santa Clarita to Sylmar, Burbank, Glendale and Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
The meeting is at 12:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
