FARING BETTER? County transportation officials are about ready to scrap the student bus pass and replace it with a two-week pass, designed both for students and the low-income. The student passes are too often misused, and too many people say the monthly pass doesn’t suit them. . . . The new pass, a staff recommendation based on a customer needs survey, would go into effect early next year. But the monthly pass will remain too.
