Karlheinz Riedle scored two goals and Germany withstood a late surge to beat Sweden, 3-2, clinching a berth for the defending world champions in the final of the European Championship. In next Friday’s final at Goteborg, the Germans will meet the winner of today’s semifinal between the Netherlands and Denmark.

An hour after the game, a man was stabbed and mobs of Swedish and German hooligans roamed Stockholm, chanting, breaking windows and running from police.

By early morning, police had arrested 150 for rioting.
