MONTEBELLO : Fire at Mini-Mall Destroys Half a Dozen Businesses
A fire at a Montebello shopping center Thursday night destroyed at least half a dozen businesses and damaged several others, authorities said.
Montebello police spokeswoman Patty Stout said the blaze erupted about 6 p.m. in a laundry and raged through the mini-mall for more than an hour before firefighters were able to bring it under control.
Merchants and customers were able to evacuate the building at Whittier and Montebello boulevards. There were no reported injuries, police said.
