Radio After the Riots

Share

KCRW-FM’s (89.9) follow-up coverage of the post-L.A. disturbances and rebuilding efforts has been markedly superior to local TV’s (“TV Anchor Finds a Voice on Radio,” June 17), but the coverage on KCRW is greatly inferior to that of KPFK-FM (90.7).

KPFK has given more air time devoted exclusively to “The Aftermath and Beyond” and has included more voices--from communities, universities, real experts and perspectives--than other outlets. The diversity is astounding, considering that the station is run mostly by volunteers and is funded mostly by listener contributions.
