PATIO ART: Newport Beach landscape artist John Cosby feels close to the AIDS issue: a good friend died from the disease. That’s why he’s joined with the local Red Cross office to donate proceeds from a silent auction of his painting, “Laguna Patio,” to its AIDS program. . . . “I’m an artist; this is how I feel I can best help,” he says. The Red Cross program will also receive proceeds from a poster of the painting, to be unveiled at a show at the Cosby Gallery tonight.
