GARDEN GROVE — A 16-year-old boy was arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal stabbing of another youth during a fight in a restaurant parking lot, police said.
Mack Lee Royer, 18, of Garden Grove was found bleeding in the parking lot of a Jack-In-The-Box restaurant at 12107 Euclid St. on June 20. He died two days later. Police said he was stabbed in the heart.
Little information is available on the stabbing. Restaurant employees had called police to report a fight in the parking lot involving a group of young people, Garden Grove Police Lt. Chuck Gibbs said. The group, however, had dispersed by the time officers arrived to find Royer.
Gibbs declined to explain what led police to arrest the 16-year-old suspect, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile. Detectives may arrest additional suspects, Gibbs said.
