Changing Hands: In a foreclosure sale, the title on the historic Ebony Showcase Theater on West Washington Boulevard has been transferred from its debt-strapped founders Nick and Edna Stewart to a loan company headed by Martin Mayerfeld. A spokesman for Mayerfeld said, “We have no immediate plans. We are open for suggestions.” The Ebony Showcase company remains housed in the building, and efforts to buy back the structure are under way. One fund-raiser will be a student production of “Watts Side Story,” to be performed Tuesday through July 10.
