A sharp-eyed neighbor helped Oxnard police nab two youths who were trying to steal about $1,000 worth of tools from a south Oxnard garage, police said Friday.

The woman noticed two boys entering her neighbor’s garage in the 1800 block of Arcadia Street at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday and notified police, authorities said.

Officers found one suspect hiding in bushes at the rear of the victim’s home, police said. A second youth was apprehended about 10 minutes later after officers searched the area, police said.
