Mountain Search for Woman Ends
San Diego sheriff’s rescue teams Sunday suspended a fruitless search for a 65-year-old San Diego woman who is missing and believed to be in the Mt. Laguna area, authorities said.
The search for Gwendolyn Mihalka began Friday after her car was found near the entrance of a mountain lodge along with her purse and other valuables. Mihalka, who was last seen a week ago by her son in Santee, has been under the care of a physician for a stress-related condition, sheriff’s deputies said.
The search was ended at 1 p.m. Sunday, sheriff’s deputies said.
Mihalka is about 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 115 pounds, with short, gray hair and hazel eyes, deputies said.
