Earthquakes and Bomb Tests
After digesting all the theories in The Times’ article (“Quake Theories Get Rattled by Scientists,” June 28) on earthquakes including rupture, dynamics, stress, a rock in the wrong place, etc., one comes to the conclusion the chances of predicting an earthquake are about the same as the chances of The Times having a study on earthquakes in tandem with a Sunday morning shake-up wake-up call.
As Charles Richter once said, “Only liars, charlatans and idiots” predict earthquakes.
