THOUSAND OAKS : Festivities to Mark Park Dedication
Family games, musical performances and Frisbee demonstrations will be among the activities at the opening of the new, 25-acre Conejo Creek North Park in Thousand Oaks.
The Conejo Recreation and Park District is holding the event Saturday to dedicate the new park, located at 1379 E. Janss Road behind the Thousand Oaks Library.
In addition to a playground and other large play areas, Conejo Creek North features sand volleyball courts, an equestrian trail and picnic shelters for up to 400 people, according to park district promotional literature.
Saturday’s event, which will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include performances by a barbershop quartet, the musical group County Line and a dance team. Other activities will include storytelling by Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library and a magic demonstration.
