SIMI VALLEY : Man Arrested After Police Seize Goods

A Simi Valley man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after police seized an estimated $10,000 worth of suspected stolen property from his garage, authorities said Tuesday.

Mark Edward Reyner, 23, was arrested at his residence in the 3400 block of Highwood Court Sunday, when police used a warrant to search his apartment and garage, said Simi Valley Police Sgt. Andrew McCluskey.

Officers obtained the warrant after employees of the Simi Valley Sears, Roebuck location identified Reyner in a photo lineup as a suspect in a theft at the store on Saturday, McCluskey said.

When they searched Reyner’s garage, officers found “a huge amount” of stolen property, McCluskey said, including boxes of socket wrenches, 35-millimeter cameras and citizens band radios.

Reyner told officers that he sold the goods at swap meets, but McCluskey said Reyner did not respond when asked why he was not at a swap meet on Sunday at the time of his arrest.
