A Burbank woman died on her 35th birthday Wednesday after being critically injured in a car accident in Burbank that led to the arrest of her boyfriend and the driver of another vehicle, Burbank police said.

Laurie Seip died shortly after 4 a.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center where she was taken following the early morning accident at the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Front Street, Sgt. Don Goldberg said.

Seip was riding in a 1968 Porsche driven by her boyfriend, Nelson Hull, 34, of Burbank, which was struck broadside by a pickup truck as they drove east on Burbank Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m., he said.

Witnesses said Aaron Burban, 26, of Valencia, the driver of the truck, apparently ran a stop sign at Front Street, Goldberg said. The truck pushed in the passenger side of the car nearly a foot, causing severe head and internal injuries to Seip, Goldberg said.

Hull and Burban were treated for cuts and bruises at nearby hospitals and were both arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, Goldberg said. The case will be presented to the district attorney’s office, which will possibly seek felony manslaughter charges, he said.

Goldberg declined to comment on whether the additional charges would be brought against Hull, Burban or both.
