Katrina Adams of the Newport Beach Dukes will have surgery Tuesday in Houston and probably will miss the rest of the TeamTennis season, the Dukes announced Sunday.

Adams has been receiving treatment for a non-injury related problem since the French Open and doctors had believed that the treatment had contained the problem enough to allow her to continue playing tennis. However, tests taken after Wimbledon showed immediate surgery was necessary.

Dukes owner Fred Lieberman said Adams isn’t expected to be able to play before the season ends Aug. 2.
