Packard Bell, Disney to Market Joint System

Share

Packard Bell Electronics Inc. in Chatsworth has agreed to bundle its personal computers with seven Walt Disney Computer Software Inc. children’s titles and Disney’s Sound Source audio speaker system.

The seven software titles haven’t been selected, but they might include such titles as “Mickey’s ABCs.” The bundled systems will be sold through mass merchants, consumer electronics stores, computer super stores, warehouse clubs and catalogue companies in the United States and Canada.

Disney Computer Software is a unit of Disney Consumer Products, the merchandising and specialty retail group of Walt Disney Co. Shelly Miles, general manager of Disney Computer Software, said that Disney chose Packard Bell as its partner for the venture because of the computer maker’s strength in mass-merchant retail channels.
