PANNED: As if the Angels’ season wasn’t going badly enough, the latest Sports Illustrated contains a review of California baseball that raps the locals. It begins: “What really sets Anaheim apart is sushi. Oakland has vegetarian burgers . . . but sushi?” And it ends: “Is there such a thing as an Angel fan? I wore an Angel cap to each ballpark. . . . The cap elicited only one comment, from a drunken fan in San Diego who asked me why I was wearing it.”
