Nike Inc. says its trademark problems in Spain won’t affect the ability of national teams, including the United States, to wear Nike-produced uniforms during the Olympic Games.

Spain’s Constitutional Court last week refused to lift a lower court order prohibiting Nike from using its name on clothing. The court ruled that a Barcelona company registered the trademark first in 1932, when it briefly made socks.

Juan Amigo Freixas, a Barcelona lawyer, bought the Nike name from the original registrant and reportedly has asked Nike for $30 million for rights to the brand.
