Croatia, Georgia and Albania were denied berths in next season’s European club soccer tournaments after being rated dangerous regions. UEFA, European soccer’s governing body, admitted nine new countries to today’s first-round draw for the three European Cup competitions.

Russia, Ukraine, the three Baltic states, Slovenia, Israel, Liechtenstein and the Faroe Islands met a UEFA emergency committee’s requirements on safety and match organization.
