Only Affluent Fans Need Apply at UCLA

Share

I will be attending UCLA’s law school next year, and I suddenly feel a deep concern about what goes on there. Recently, I have become especially disturbed by the demand for season ticket-holders to donate $750 to keep their seats.

I’m very happy that Mr. Cuttrow and Mr. and Mrs. Ganulin (July 11) are so happy to make the donations. When I graduate from law school, I hopefully will be able to continue to “shell out” to see UCLA sports events. But what about the alumni who chose to become teachers, or, God forbid, social workers? Can they afford to send off a $750 check if they’ve been supporting UCLA sports?

It seems that if you’re affluent, UCLA wants you at their games, if not . . .
