Freebies to Ease Life in the City

COMPILED BY THE SOCIAL CLIMES STAFF

Just when life in the big city seems increasingly cruel and impersonal, there are little niceties to be noticed and appreciated.

Well, at least if you hang out in Beverly Hills.

For example, when you go to pick up your car from the (free) valet service at the Two Rodeo Drive shopping center, you also get a free chocolate mint wrapped in gold foil, just like the ones left on your pillow at night in fancy hotels. And then last month, a cappuccino and espresso machine materialized in the service department at Beverly Hills Limited Mercedes-Benz.

The beverages are served to customers--gratis--while they’re waiting to drop off or pick up their cars. Why did the management do it? Just to be nice.

Give Her the Booby Prize

Tact and taste are definitely on the wane these days, but your Social Climes staff thinks this conversation at a local health club signals a new low. A young woman with a cute figure was approached by another female and asked, “Where did you get your boobs?”

The young woman, not hearing correctly, thought she had asked, “Where did you get your top?” and replied, “Oh, I don’t know, this thing is so old, some store, I think.”

“No,” the woman insisted, “Where did you get your boobs ?”

Still in shock from being asked such a question, the young woman replied, “From my mother!”
