Maryland Democratic Chairman Nathan Landow, a longtime fund-raiser for Democratic causes, resigned his state party post Tuesday to raise money for Al Gore’s vice presidential campaign.

Landow co-chaired Gore’s finance committee when the Tennessee senator ran for President in 1988. He is the head of IMPAC, a group of 65 Democrats who in past campaigns have each raised at least $250,000 for a presidential candidate.
