PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Maddox Signs for $4.4 Million
Tommy Maddox signed a four-year contract Wednesday with the Denver Broncos for $4.4 million, including a $1.4 million signing bonus, according to his agent, Leigh Steinberg.
The former UCLA quarterback, the 25th player selected in the first round of the NFL draft, checked into the Broncos’ training camp at Greeley, Colo.
Maddox will set up a scholarship fund at his high school, L.D. Bell in Hurst, Tex., and also at UCLA, according to Steinberg. He also will donate $2,000 to a charity in Denver.
Maddox had two years of eligibility remaining at UCLA when he elected to enter the NFL draft.
