From Staff and Wire Reports

Guard Derek Harper of the Dallas Mavericks, who has been the subject of trade rumors, has asked the team to deal him to one of four or five teams before next season, his agent says.

Attorney George Andrews, who represents Harper, said his client deserves the same consideration Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackman got when the Mavericks dealt those star-quality players to contending teams.

Two of the teams reportedly on Harper's list are the New York Knicks, who acquired Blackman for a first-round pick earlier this summer, and the Chicago Bulls.
