2 Investigators Promoted by D.A.
Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury has promoted Vinse J. Gilliam to deputy chief investigator, the second-highest-ranking position in the 43-member bureau of investigation.
Gilliam, 43, will run the bureau, overseeing the felony, felony trials, misdemeanor, juvenile and sexual assault units.
Formerly, as senior district attorney investigator in the district attorney’s office, Gilliam headed the consumer and environmental investigative division.
Gilliam was appointed to that position in 1989. Previously, he had served 10 years in the bureau as an investigator.
Bradbury also announced the promotion of Michael R. McKendry to senior district attorney investigator.
McKendry, who has 14 years of law enforcement experience, was appointed district attorney investigator in 1988 and has since worked in the sexual assault division, dealing most recently with major crimes and homicides.
McKendry, 38, also worked nine years in the major crimes division for the Ventura Police Department.
