Thousand Oaks : Nighttime Hours Added at 2 Pools
The Conejo Recreation and Park District has decided to add nighttime hours for recreational swimming at two pools in the community.
Beginning Saturday, the Thousand Oaks High School swimming pool will be open Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. The pool had been open only three hours on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.
A swimming pool at Newbury Park High School will also open Monday nights between 7 and 9 p.m. It is already open for three hours each afternoon on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The hours were added after parents complained about budget cuts that eliminated daily swimming hours in the park district’s recreational swimming program.
Public admission to both pools is $1. Children under 2 years old and senior citizens can swim for free.
