Mazda, Porsche Announce Recalls: Mazda said it is recalling 4,000 pickup trucks to fix emission control systems. The affected vehicles are B2200 pickup models made between June, 1987, and July, 1992. Mazda said the emission control system may not meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards when used in high altitudes. Owners of affected vehicles are being asked by mail to bring their vehicles to dealers for free repairs. Meanwhile, Porsche said it is recalling 145 cars with automatic transmissions to correct a shifting problem. Porsche said a transmission part installed in the 1991 928 S4 models lacked proper support. The part could move during normal operation and prevent a driver from accelerating. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail and asked to bring their cars to a dealer to be checked.
