Gitano Will Close Plant: Clothing maker and retailer Gitano Group Inc. said it will accelerate its plans to restructure by closing stores, shrinking inventories and shutting an apparel plant that employs 500 workers. To cover costs associated with the moves, Gitano said it will take $78 million in charges against quarterly earnings. Gitano said it gave notice to the 500 workers it employs at a plant in Ruleville, Miss.
