A second suspect in the shooting death of a transient whose body was found March 24 in Lancaster was arrested Monday by homicide investigators who tracked him to Kern County, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

David Wayne Franz, 27, was picked up in Mojave, said Deputy Rich Erickson. Authorities had arrested James Tindell, 28, on April 20, charging him with the murder of Darwin Craig Cummings, 28. The body of Cummings, with a bullet wound through the head, was found in a vacant field, about one mile north of 80th Street East in Lancaster.
