Police arrested three men Monday afternoon on suspicion of robbery and recovered more than $1,000 believed taken from a bank.

Police said a man entered Southern California Bank at 1150 E. Imperial Highway about 2:45 p.m., told a teller that he had a gun and gave her a note demanding money. The teller gave the man $1,140, Police Lt. Jerry Cline said.

As the man left the bank, the teller sounded an alarm, which triggered a police broadcast of the robbery, Cline said. Officer Chuck Page, who was patrolling nearby, heard the report and saw a man rush from the bank and get into a car, Cline said.

Page followed the car west on Imperial Highway and north along Leslie Street until the suspect jumped out and began to run, Cline said. Page arrested the man without incident.

But as the officer was applying handcuffs, someone drove off in the getaway car, Cline said. Page alerted other La Habra officers, who tracked it to Harbor Boulevard and Bastanchury Road in Fullerton, where they arrested a second man.

Back on Leslie Street, a witness told Page that still another man had jumped out of the getaway car. Based on the witness’s description, police arrested a third suspect at Leslie Street and Imperial Highway.

Police also recovered the cash believed stolen from the bank.

Vincent Dominguez, 33, of Anaheim, David Marolejo, 43, of Orange and Larry Perez, 42, of Placentia were booked on suspicion of robbery. They were being held at La Habra City Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each, Cline said.
