Executive Suite: Film executive Robert Rehme is the new president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, succeeding actor Karl Malden, who has served three terms. Malden will assume the office of immediate past president, the first retiring president to take that post since it was created by the academy board in 1988. Rehme, co-chairman of Neufeld/Rehme Productions, has been chairman of New World Entertainment, president of Universal’s Theatrical Motion Picture Group and president of Avco Embassy Pictures. He is the academy’s 28th president.
