Westchester : Grant for Shuttle Service

The Westchester/LAX Chamber of Commerce has obtained $400,000 to start a shuttle service that will link the regional transit center near the airport with businesses in the Westchester area.

A survey is being conducted of possible routes and ridership. Current plans call for the shuttle service to leave the transit center at Airport Parking Lot C and head north on Sepulveda Boulevard through the Westchester business district, then to the Howard Hughes Center near Centinela Avenue, and across the Playa Vista property to the Hughes Aircraft headquarters near Lincoln Boulevard.

The service will be operated with the financial support of the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission.

While planning continues, a contest is being held to name the service and develop a logo for the shuttles.
