Chevron to Pay EPA $1 Million: Chevron U.S.A. has agreed to pay $1 million in penalties for air pollution violations at its Philadelphia petroleum refinery, the Environmental Protection Agency said. The agreement settles federal civil charges that Chevron’s refinery violated laws limiting emissions of cancer-causing benzene. Chevron U.S.A. and its parent, Chevron Corp., are based in San Francisco.
