Open-Door Policy at Def American

Share

Exsqueeze me? Heidi Robinson, head of media relations at Def American Records, explains the label’s attempt to assuage the concerns of its female employees on the hiring of Mike Bone (“Controversial Record Exec Hired by Def,” July 21):

“(Management) made sure that everybody here who had a problem with it had the opportunity to speak with Mike directly to get the truth out. . . . They were told that Mike was always just a phone call away and his door is always open and anybody is more than welcome to sit down and talk with him about it and get it all squared away.”

Orrin G. Hatch and the Senate Judiciary Committee couldn’t have said it better. Were I Mike Bone, I’d be more than a little concerned if that is the best the head of media relations can do.
