LONG BEACH : 4 Gang Suspects to Be Tried in Firebombing Attack

Share

Four suspected gang members were ordered this week to stand trial for a firebomb attack that severely burned three young girls while they were sleeping in their Long Beach home.

Daniel Almanza, 18, Ruben Hernandez, 19, Joseph Miranda, 18, and Dana Ramos, 18, will be tried on a number of charges, including attempted murder, a Long Beach Municipal Court judge ruled Thursday. Hernandez, Miranda and Ramos confessed to their roles in the attack, according to Long Beach Fire Department investigator Doug McClure.

In June, the men allegedly tossed 40-ounce beer bottles filled with gasoline into the bedroom of three sisters--Angelica, 16, Adriana, 14, and Rocio Hernandez, 11. The suspects wanted to hurt a rival gang member but did not realize that their target had moved out and that the Hernandez family moved in, authorities said.
