Dissident Sister Urges Cuba’s Castro to Quit
Cuban President Fidel Castro’s sister has urged him to resign, and let his people “enjoy freedom,” Bunte, a German magazine, reported Monday.
“Cuba has no allies in the political field or in economics,” Bunte quoted Juanita Castro as saying in an open letter to her brother.
“It is really about time that you gave up power, if you love your country.
“Your new slogan is ‘Socialism or death,’ ” wrote Juanita, who lives in exile in Miami and is a longtime opponent of her brother’s regime. “But what you are really saying is: ‘Fidel or death.’ ”
