Oceanside Woman Dies in County Jail
A 38-year-old woman was found dead in her bunk Tuesday morning at the Los Colinas Jail for Women in Santee, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Mary Louise Roybal, of the 1400 block of Langford Street in Oceanside, was arrested Sunday in Vista after a routine traffic stop in which deputies discovered she was wanted on numerous warrants, Sgt. Manny Castillo said.
Roybal reportedly told deputies she was a long-time drug user and was evaluated by the medical staff at Los Colinas. Roybal had been housed with other inmates but did not have a cellmate when she died, Castillo said.
The county medical examiner’s office is investigating the cause of death.
